Downtime coming to an end...

Didn't wanna Clean my EGR ports with the manifold on the car SO......

Before...

After...

I obviously decided to paint my manifold while it was off the car... Went with a Gunmetal paint. Looks better in person. Also... All components including IACV, FITV, IABV, & EGR were polished so they accent well...

Manifold is now reinstalled on the car. Just gotta do a Coolant bleed/refill, Clean/Reinstall injectors, install fuel rail and she'll be up n running. Hopefully without my random misfires and Stop-light stalling...

Re: Downtime coming to an end...

I know getting the manifold off and back on a 4th gen with an h22 is a pain while the engine is in the car... that is when you do not have all the proper tools though.

You did a great job.

On a scale 1-10. This is definitely a 9.8
Getting the manfold off is an incredible pain in the @ss. Mainly just the bottom nuts. I used 2 swivel joints, and 2 extentions. And then had to squeeze my hand under the manifold to get the socket onto the nut. A magnetic pick up tool is a necessity to not lose the loosened nuts. All-in-all it was a pain.

Re: Downtime coming to an end...

Got everything back up and running today... but not running well. it's idling VERY high. tried turning the idle adjustment screw but its all the way in already. tried taking it for a drive and when i hit the gas pedal it basically bogs down. oh, what to do, what to do...

Re: Downtime coming to an end...

Ok, car was fluctuating between 1k-4k rpms. I unplugged the IACV and the idle went down to fluctuating between 1000-1500 rpms. Sound like a bad IACV??

Re: Downtime coming to an end...

Surging Problem Diagnosed. Bad TPS. must've messed it up when cleaning the TB. Bought a replacement on ebay for $23, just gotta wait for it to arrive.
On a good note, NO MORE MISFIRES, NO MORE STOP-LIGHT STALLING!!! EGR Port clean was a success!!!

Let me know if i should make a write up of any of the following; EGR port clean, Intake Mani Removal, TPS Replacement....
