Halo headlight Install

Ok I got these new halo projector headlights and I can't get them to work at all. I'm wondering if anything owns these headlights and can offer some help.

I have my original HIDS in there and that's all I can get to work. The top halo and the bottom 3 lights I can't get to work at all for some reason.

Re: Halo headlight Install

I'm not sure which one exactly that you're talking about. I remember the two plugs for the main headlight and the highbeam then there's some other connector that's red that was also there. But I don't see how I can plug it in

Re: Halo headlight Install

jsut take out the light bulb and take the blue connector and plug it in where the light bulb was plugged in all u do is pull the bulb out and put the blue connector in. The blue connector is like a light bulb it fits in where the bulb was, its a small squeeze to get to it but thats all u do.

Re: Halo headlight Install

Oh ok, is there a way to get a replacement on it? If I throw on my HIDS with this holy crap it's freaking bright as hell. And thanks I'm trying to get my CF hood next month or in January then getting new rims and a new front lip. Spiff it up a bit then I'm redoing the exhaust, header, suspension and I'll be done for a little while on it.

Re: Halo headlight Install

Yeah OEM I don't really care for the other styles. I like the way our OEM hood looks already so I'm keeping the look.

Yeah I'm hoping to get it all done by the spring time of next year, just gotta save up the money for it and I'll be good to go. I already know what I'm spending my tax return on, hah hah

Re: Halo headlight Install

How are these lights? I have HID's on my stock lamps and they have horrible glare so I was looking to grab a set of these as a replacement. Love the halo look and I also have a white prelude

Re: Halo headlight Install

They look great, granted I keep the HIDS on not just the Halos because where I live it's really dark and the projectors really let your HIDS shine out there. I had the same problem with glare on my stock headlights it just looked real messy, but these look real good. Just be prepared for them to be bright as all hell if you have 8k and above.

Re: Halo headlight Install

Haha. Where did you purchase them? I saw some on eBay. They go for around 250-300 shipped from what I see. I don't mind it being extra bright, as long as they don't shoot up. When I drove under a sign, it still shines up on the freeway:P

Re: Halo headlight Install

You can point them down the option is there. I got them on eBay too. It was pretty much $235 after shipping, so it wasn't too bad. I got them through a seller Lokakech

Re: Halo headlight Install

Question,
Do the backs come off of those?
like where the pigtails come out are those caps for where the bulbs would go in?
I'm probably going to get these just to hack and put real projectors on them but curious bout those back caps or if they are removable.

Re: Halo headlight Install

The back caps come off just like the OEM would. The holes are smaller though.

I was told these weren't for HID's and you'd get glare. Is that true or is there a cut off?

Re: Halo headlight Install

Simple answer is no they are not for hids.
These particular lights are halogen projectors for halogen bulbs.
hids are for projectors made for hids.
People stick hids in reflector bowls cause they are ignorant, it poduces no usable light, is illegal, blinds and can potentially kill people on the road.
There's a ball ton of info in this forum and others, i have just learned myself on it reading over the last week or so and now i know more than i ever cared to know about damn headlights, but anyway..., thought i'd pick up the slack being a noob here as some regular would eventually pop in and put the smackdown on this subject anyway.

If you like the look of these lights, and want hids, which you probably would want cause these are basically toys, then retrofit proper projectors in them and probably rewire and change the leds and halos for better quality, all i really want is the layout of the dish really, probably try and find some broke ones for cheap.

Re: Halo headlight Install

Yeah these things are definitely not built for HIDS, LoL ... I have officially realized that. I pretty much can light up the nights sky with my HIDS right now in these things, LoL

Re: Halo headlight Install

Ok so let me get this straight. The halo's that you have (Jramos718) they don't have HID bulbs inside the halo? So it's pretty much just the Halo's lit up then the LED's on the side? I'm somewhat confused with this lamp since I'm really considering getting it.
