Buying question for New York owners

Totaled my prelude about 2 months ago, so I've been looking for a new one.

Talked to a guy that said that he bought it in Texas originally and moved to New York with it for a few years and came back to Texas. I know that corrosion may be a problem due to road salt, but is there any other problems I should look for on this car? Any particular areas around or under the car that is prone to rust in this kind of environment?

I was also wondering if there is anything I should check for on a car that has been sitting around for about 6 months (according to the owner). I checked the belts to see if there were any visible cracks and to see if there were any leaks of any kinds...none found on a rough search.

Any help would be great
