Weird Sound

I've read all over and didn't see any1 post anything about this problem. I have a 1997 Lude SE and everytime i hit a bump it makes a clunking sound on the rear pass side. I replaced my 2 rear shocks with kybs and it was still making the sound, and now it's coming from the rear driver side. I thought it may have been the ball joints but i took it to a mechanic and they said the they were fine. Can someone pls help??

P.S The car is also lowered.

Could this be the dreaded "shock knock?"

is it ONLY when you hit bumps?? do you get it when your taking turns hard too? check all your suspension components. not just ball joints and shocks. check all the bushings. make sure they aren't dry rotting. check to see if even your muffler has excessive movement. it could hit the heat shield.. mine does quite a bit actually. its quite possibly you bought got a defective shock even.
