Valve cover painting decision...

Ok, so I have already decided on painting the valve cover with the red wrinkle paint, and I'm wondering, for the "DOHC VTEC", should I leave it silver, or paint it white? Anyone have pictures of the letters being white? Are the oem type s letters silver?

Thanks :)

Re: Valve cover painting decision...

Paint the valve cover white, and the letters red. More original, less "bandwagon"...

Re: Valve cover painting decision...

If you have photoshop you can "paint" the letters white, and then mess with some settings/filters to make it look more realistic.

Just go for it. Toss a coin.

If you don't like it, just repaint it.

Re: Valve cover painting decision...

painted white, or sanded down. DON'T leave it red, thats one of my pet-peeves and looks unfinished like you got lazy and didn't feel like sanding/taping it.

Re: Valve cover painting decision...

Just paint the lettering white. IF you don't like it in the longrun, you can just sand the white off...

White was not used in that picture. It is bare metal just like the stock black USDM VC.

For the paint you use VHT wrinkle red rattlecan paint (special order from any parts store or buy online).

You can coat the DOHC VTEC letters with vaseline or chapstck before painting and then use a razorblade to scrape off afterwards.
