Type S complications

I'm having a few complications with my Type S swap. first off, the intake manifolds are different and I am having trouple figuring out where some of the vacuum hoses go; particularly the hooked connector on the driver's side and the 2 sticking out the back. and the other issue; it won't turn over, when I turn the key it just clicks, but won't even try to start. any suggestions?

Im not sure what ur problem is honestly.

But Im eating thru a bag of trolli bright crawlers and the past 4 I've pulled outta the bag have been the red/yellow ones. Wtf?? I like the green/orange ones.

Edit: I just pulled out another one and it was a red/blue one.

Re: Type S complications

^ HAHA! Totally dumb and random but well executed.

What are you Type S swapping? The intake tube? The entire manifold? Throttle body? Also, vacuum lines have nothing to do with an engine not cranking. Hook up to a charger.

Some pics could go a long way here too. Take some shots of your problem area and Im sure we can get you rolling again.

Re: Type S complications

I swapped the entire motor, tranny and ECU. i used the JDM wiring harness on the motor since I was running that same ECU. here's a pic of the IM and the whole motor. what would be some of the issues I should look into for it not cranking over?

Re: Type S complications

Well, if your battery is charged (12.5V+) and has sufficient CCA (it turns another engine over or you bring it somewhere that applies a load test) then it should be engaging the starter if the ignition system is functioning properly. If the starter is engaging but maybe the bendix isn't popping out that could be the clicking i suppose. You can pull the starter and have it bench tested if you want, or do it yourself. Do more stuff and get back to us so we can help more.

Re: Type S complications

yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! GOT IT RUNNING!! thank you all who helped. one last concern...for those of you who have swapped a motor from Hmotors, when I started it, the header was puttin off some smoke, is that just from the cleaner they use before they ship it? I'm pretty sure it is, just need some confirmation. peace of mind I guess.

The Chilton book was good enough for my 86 Nissan pickup, but for the Lude, i've been lookin' at the Helm's manual. too bad i can't find an equivalent for the JDM motor...
