Racing seats with stock belts??

Has anyone seen or heard about racing seats that work with stock seat belts? Ive searched around on here and other place on the internets. Couldn't find a damn thing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Racing seats with stock belts??

Yea...It'll work. When you put the seats in, your just removing the "stock" seat rails; and replacing them with the aftermarket ones you'd have to buy. However, the seatbelts would be rubbing against your new seats; which will eventually cause a tear. We're talking several months of rubbing, but it'll wear the side(s) of your seats eventually. Buddy Club makes a good seat that's supposed to "withstand" seatbelt rub.

Check their stuff out here: Buddy Club Racing Spec Bucket Seat (Regular) Red | Password JDM

^^ That's certainly not their only model...Just check out some of PW:JDM's inventory.

Re: Racing seats with stock belts??

There is a JDM seatbelt attachment that pushes the pivot point out beyond where most race seats go. However I'm not certain that will solve your problem. It is my opinion that if you need a racing style seat then chances are you're probably in a position where a harness might be worth the investigation.

Alternatively you could unbolt thebottom of the seatbelt, loop it through the harness hole in the seatback, then bolt it back to the floor where you unbolted it. This doesn't fix the rubbing issue, just moves the point of rubbing to a more discreet place.
