While i have the intake manifold off....

While i have my intake manifold off the car, i'm thinking about painting it for that custom look.
BUT, i just CANNOT decide what color to paint it, which leads me to NOT wanting to paint it.
So... give me YOUR opinions...
I have a Pearl White Prelude with Black SH Rims.
My thoughts were to Paint it Gold, but i want to paint the Valve Cover Gold so would that be overkill? If so, besides black, what color accents Gold really well?

Thanks, in advance

Re: While i have the intake manifold off....

While this may not be what you asked for, while it's off I would clean the TPS, throttle body, inside of the manifold, everything. Then replace the intake gasket, TB gasket, IAC gasket, etc.

As for the color, whatever you're feelin' man. Maroon/red does accent gold well; if you want it to look like Iron Man of course. I would say black would work well with gold. You could do your VC gold with your spark plug cover black, then do the intake manifold black with gold accents...

I'm not really good with colors though.

Already have all new Gaskets on order from HondaPartsUnlimited.com
And i am in the process of Polishing the IM, IACV, FIAV, & TB up which makes me think to just stay with that look rather than painting over my work.

Check out the before and during pics

Re: While i have the intake manifold off....

i know think i realize how the egr works, sorry, i made a post before trying to figure this out, but can i ask this? why is one port on the egr blackened and the other clean looking? did you clean one? or does it just naturally do that?

and i say polish it, gold VC and black SP cover

Re: While i have the intake manifold off....

Well.... Polishing just isn't working out the way i would've liked it too. Too many inconsistencies, too many nooks & crannies, just way too much DIY work. Looks like painting is the route to get the best possible finished product look.
So... I'm thinking Gunmetal...
