missing chunk of metal in engine bay -_-'

ok so i popped open my hood and noticed a piece of metal missing right above where the engine model is stamped. i never noticed it before so hopefully its nothing major. but when i turn on the car you can see where the transmission meets the block so maybe it'll act as a cooling vent lol. but please let me know if this is a bad thing or a good thing and should i get it fixed!!

Re: missing chunk of metal in engine bay -_-'

It's just a little rubber piece that goes there to keep dirt/dust from getting in there. You're supposed to be able to remove it in order to see the flywheel. Although I've never seen one just pop out haha.

Try Majestic Honda. They probably have it for really cheap.

Re: missing chunk of metal in engine bay -_-'

it's a rubber grommet used to see the flywheel in order to set timing, so no worries...
here's the website we all use for semi-cheapish oem parts...Honda Automotive Parts

This isn't the kind of part you actually buy from the dealer. This is the part you pocket from the junkyard. It can also be found on Accords with manual transmissions
