QUIET exhaust

is there a company out there that makes an exhaust that flows more but is as quiet or close to as quiet as the stock exhaust, or am i just hopin for something that doesnt exist?

honestly in most cases i would put on an exhaust with a good tone and not give a rats butt on how loud it is, but i LOVE the way my car sounds with stock exhaust and short ram intake! and i have heard h22's, not preludes, with short rams and exhausts and they just dont sound the same to me.

so really what i want is a high flow exhaust system that sounds stock. any out there?

Thanks guys!

Re: QUIET exhaust

yea i cant see myself spendin 1200 on a, exhaust. 600-800 for a good one i MIGHT can swing one day, but i'm not buyin any exhaust until i can afford one that people can attest to being quieter than a normal exhaust.

Imma see if i can find a sound clip somewhere of these three.

Re: QUIET exhaust

I just bought a super turbo muffler from a muffler shop near my house. It's supposed to be a tad bit louder than stock but it looks stock. I paid 35 for it.

Re: QUIET exhaust

You can also just change your piping catback with your stock muffler.

how much do you think it will hope out with the exhaust flow? and if you do have it on your car would it be possible to get a sound clip of it?

how much will that help performance wise? i see what you saying tho, header, hi flow cat, 2.5 piping, and either adapting the muffler to the pipe or cutting out the fitting and welding a larger fitting in the muffler itself.

Re: QUIET exhaust

i got the Apexi NOIR. its the same as the ws2 but its powdercoated black. looks sweet. plus its super quiet. only when youre way on the throttle do you hear it, and then it just sounds mean.
heres the vid. most of the noise is coming from intake. and yes i know i said 2 1/4 millimeter piping. meant 2 1/4 inch.

Re: QUIET exhaust

i love the black. and i really hate chrome, haha/ but i dunno if i like it better than the ws2 or not. its gone be a flip of the quarter to me, haha. unless one is cheaper than the other! HAHA! but thanks guys, i appreciate the help, i believe when i do get my pennies saved i'll be purchasing a apexi exhaust, and arent the apexi's piping 60 mm which is 2.38 inch? or am i confusing myself with another and bein too lazy to check myself? haha

Re: QUIET exhaust

they are the exact same exhaust. just the NOIR is powdercoated black. if you look in the product review section i have a thread about this exhaust when i bought it and i list the website i got it from and the price and discount code. they also have the WS2 and a bunch of other stuff.

Re: QUIET exhaust

you could always geta custom exhaust made to your specification!! i paid 400 for my custom exhaust. I told the guy exactly how i want it and they did it. except the fact i told them i want it quiet but deep but they didnt have the correct center box in stock so put a small one on which made it really loud so gonna go back tomorrow to get it changed for a quieter one.

plus u can choose the diameter of your piping and also style of exhaust tips too. im sure most places carry a lifetime warranty on their products so u shud be ok

Re: QUIET exhaust

The only difference I remember about the Noir and WS2 is that they have different tips and the color of them, otherwise they are quiet unless you're on the throttle then they sound real nice. Trust me, I love quiet exhausts and thought long and hard, went through more clips then I would of liked when I was looking to upgrade and I am not disappointed. My buddy is jealous of my exhaust/intake set up, I think he likes it better then his 5.9 jeep set up lol

Re: QUIET exhaust

haha, on the powdercoat thing, like i said earlier, i'm not a fan of chrome, but imo chrome, or polished, goes with an exhaust. out of all the clips i looked the ws2 definitely sounds really good too me, but as all of ya'll say, its loud but sonds good when at high rev, correct?
