Re: Car wont start

you say you smell fuel but are you getting fuel for sure ? listen to see if the fuel pump is coming on just turn your key to the on position ( not start ) and listen for a hummmm for 3 or 4 seconds

Re: Car wont start

Have you checked each spark-plug to make sure each is receiving a spark? To do this you remove the spark-plug boot, remove spark plug from engine, attach boot to spark-plug then lay/sit spark-plug next to a piece of metal that is grounded. Have a friend attempt to turn the engine and look for a spark. Perform on each wire and so forth, reinstall to correct cylinder.

Those are really low numbers for compression and shouldn't vary from each other -/+ 20psi

Dizzy has nothing to do with a compression test.

Boots, spark plugs, and fuel fuse should be removed when doing the compression test. Turn the key 5+ times until the cylinder compression no longer goes higher, write it down and go to the next.

Re: Car wont start

i hear the fuel pump come on, and i pulled all the wires out, put in extra plugs that i had, had my friend crank it and i could see spark in all the plugs........So i started to take components off already, could it be the head gasket? thats what im hoping for cuz i dont have the time for a full rebuild(jus had a baby and college all day and work half the night)

Re: Car wont start

Why don't you check out the links in my sig. There are two which are stickied threads in the general tech section of the forum.

Problems starting and battery/alternator/starter testing.
