Guel Gauge and filling up gas 99 'lude

Just wondering if the fuel gauges on the 5th Gen Preludes are a bit wonky?

My gas light came on the other day, and I filled it up and it only took 47 litres to fill it up. I know theres a 60 litre tank in it and if the light is on, I for some reason dont think there is 13 litres of fuel left. Is the fuel gauge a bit off on these cars?

Anyone else have this??

Why the heck are you allowing your prelude to go that low? You're just asking for a nice repair bill...

I've let my gas go down all the way to the E line once, just to see how many miles i can pull out with one tank. And even as the needle reached the E line, i've never had the gas light to turn on. Maybe its dead? or... You guys just surpass me and letting the needle drop below the bottom E line.

what repair bill are you talking about? my whole life in every car ive owned ive stretched my mileage to the limit. this is the first ive ever heard of needing a repair from having a low level in my gas tank. please elaborate.

I agree ^^. What kind of repair bill can you possibly have by running out of gas??
I get about 325 miles out of every tank I fill. I've drivin the 30 mile drive to work with the gas light on the whole way from when I first started it at home a couple times. It makes it no problem. The only reason I fill it before I drive home is because I don't feel like walkin lol, Not because I fear anything will break or have to be repaired. It's just out of gas, the motor will stop and not start again that's it, no repair besides getting gas in her.

only thing i can think of is the fuel pump or fuel filter ?? is that what you mean ?? if so its not that big of a job maybe 30 mins for the pump and 10 mins for the filter
