Maaco Auto Painting & Bodyworks in Plano TX

I made the unfortunate mistake of having my car painted at the Maaco in Plano Tx. I should say that I had 1 car painted by them about 5 years ago and they did a great job. I also had another car painted at a maaco in florida, both times I was happy. Now Maaco is probably the cheapest place you can get a paint job. But if you want a decent paintjob and don’t want to spend a lot of money it’s a good option…. Or so I thought!
The people that run this location will lie cheat and steal every chance they get. My car is basically in worse condition than when I dropped it off! I think they have monkeys painting cars or something, I could have done a better job with a spray can.

To start off I drop it off with plans to fix the dents on the car,and paint the car and the wheels. I chose the mid level paint job that they offer so I ended up spending just under 1000 bucks. So they tell me itll be 3 or 4 days. On the 4th day I call to see if its ready and the old guy at the front says itll be ready tomorrow. It was not ready the next day so they said Monday. On Monday they said Wednesday. So on Wednesday I go to pick it up and I have wait for 2 hours while theyre finishing it up. When they bring it out theres a big dent in my bumper where they hit something, overspray every where, spots where the paint ran and they didn’t fix it, the interior was filthy, none of the dents on the driver side were fixed and all of the change was missing from my car. So Carlos the owner tells me to bring it back in a week and they’ll fix it all after the paint has had time to cure.

So I bring it back in and they say itll be done in a day, well that turned into a week.. when I finally get it back theres a dent in my trunk lid, even more change missing, 62 miles on my car and new spots where the paint has run. Of course now I don’t want to take it back because they’ll just **** it up even more.

I wil never go back there and I would never recommend that any one go there. They are very dishonest and will say whatever they have to to get your money.

Funny story- The old jack ass named bruce who hangs out up front has a Mercedes he was trying to sell, one day when I went in to check on my car it wasn’t there so I asked about it. He said he sold it and had to take a 5k hit… when I went back to get my car the Mercedes was back. So he either lied about selling it,or he lied to whoever bought it and they made him take it back. Either way these people a shady as ****!

That sucks bro. Karma's a bitch, they'll get what's coming to 'em. I always make sure to take my change out and reset my trip dealy, just in case.

I keep debating on when I get my lip kit, taking it to macco to get painted, but these posts scare the **** out of me.

maybe it was jsut the facility u were at...well hopefully mine will turn out good cause right now all mine is, is rattled can black frm wal mart lol...only reason why its like that is because the owner before messed up on the body work so i had to restrip the old paint and i didnt want blotches so u ended up doing the whole thing

Sorry to hear that man...My sons mothers two sisters both had accidents and had their paint done by them and they both turned out great but a friend of mine who also had their paint redone by them had it coming out lookin like sh*t. I think a lot of it has to do with the people doing it if they don't care and are a$$h*les you get $h*t for work.

Yeah ive definitely had good paint jobs from them before.. i dont know why this location sucks so much.. my post def wasnt meant to bash maaco in general. just that location. Its a franchise so you can easily get different results from different locations.

Re: Maaco Auto Painting & Bodyworks in Plano TX

That's a shame to hear. Such places already have a bad conotation but for what it costs, relative to a "good" paint job, a lot of times they can do a pretty fair job. I'm pretty sure that Maaco is a franchise. You way want to try and contact upline and see if they can find someone to right the situation. Little stuff can easily be overlooked but dents where there wasn't is tough to prove milage and stolen change and such is TOTALLY unprofessional. I work on cars and if someone has a full door panel of trash and crap that falls out when I put a speaker in and I have to pick it all up, sorry homeboy, those 2 quaters and a dime just went I'm my beer fund. But to take money out. Lame.

Pictures?...

That sucks man! If it's really worse off than it started and you can prove they actually messed up your car I'd demand a refund or take em to court.

Good luck

Re: Maaco Auto Painting & Bodyworks in Plano TX

I had actually been to that same location once before. I took my 300zx there and they did a great job. That was several years ago tho, i think they have a new owner or something. I had no reason to think they wouldnt produce the same quality they had before.

Ive written reviews and posted them everywhere i can think of,and reported them to the Texas Attorney Generals Office, The Bureau of Automotive Repair, and the Better Business Bureau. Its all i can really do... They have cameras so i cant do anything more creative

Re: Maaco Auto Painting & Bodyworks in Plano TX

damn man, this sucks. You could've brought me the car, and I would've hooked you up. I'm also in the DFW area, Arlington to be exact.

If you're trying to get rid of a car real quick and want to make it look good, then Macco would be the place to go, but if you're keeping the car, I definitely wouldn't take a car there. I've heard and read so many stories about how ****ty Macco is.

^brian can paint cars in his driveway and have them turn out way better than a maaco paint job.
no doubt
