Trying to find the miss

I've done a through tune up cleaned injectors, ran seafoam thru intake to clear misfire in cylinder 1. Now code is gone but still only at an idle it seems to be missing still. The car is idling really low, sometimes as low as 400 rpm. I'm beginning to think I have a vacuum leak somewhere. I'm not experiencing any hesitation during acceleration only at idle. Can anyone confirm or deny my thinking its vacuum?

Thanks,
Rob

p.s. I tested the EGR valve buy disconnecting the wires and it ran the same according to the Service Bulletin from Honda that clears the EGR valve. This is why I think its vacuum.

Re: Trying to find the miss

Rob, since you helped me I will try to help you.

Did you do the EGR port cleaning yet?? Helped with my lude's misfire problem.

I also cleaned the EGR and IACV while I had them removed, both had carbon build up even after using seafoam twice.

I can't confirm if its vacuum or not, but do you hear any suction sounds in the bay?

Re: Trying to find the miss

I would def. check all vacuum lines! My moms van was running absolutely horrible and my dad found one little crack in a vacuum line because it was old and replaced it and it runs great now.

Re: Trying to find the miss

Yup, definitely listen for suction sounds. It'll sound almost like a hissing noise. However, if you have your air intake resonator removed, you'll hear a suction sound coming from your intake/air filter. This is normal, as the resonator is supposed to keep that quiet.

However any other suction sounds from other parts of the bay would prolly be vacuum leaks.

No I can't hear anything but these hoses are 13 years old now and they can easily slip off so I'm sure some vacuum is leaking around where they are connected.

Yeah I had an 84 Lude and boy that vacuum on that car was rediculous car ran like crap until I found a schematic for the vacuum system and found many errors and some hoses not connected, after fixing that the car ran like a champ. This is also why I think I have a vacuum leak.

As for the EGR and the IACV, I ran the test that the bullentin said and it ran the same no difference without the electrical wire connected so this negated the EGR valve, not to say it wouldn't hurt clean that puppy up which I will in the near future I just want to find the rough idle problem first, so I know what I got.

Re: Trying to find the miss

Just give the IACV a quick cleaning, only takes a few mins to take the 2 bolts and 2 hoses off and spray it with carb cleaner. Heck you could even leave it attached to the 2 hoses and clean it right in the engine bay.

Do you need the hose schematic for your lude?
