Couple Questions...

I finally swapped out the crappy floor mats that my car came in, and put on some oem floor mats. But I noticed that the driver side floor mat have a hole on the bottom, probably for something to hold it in place, but I looked around under my drivers seat for something for it to hook it with but I couldn't find any. Is there suppose to be a hook under the drivers seat area for the floor mat?

Also #2 - I waxed my car last week with one coat, and I'm planning on washing my car tomorrow, so is it a good idea to add another coat of wax again?

3rd - Has anyone tried lubricating there windows because of a slow window motor. I've been reading around and people use lubricant and spray it into the part where the windows come out of, did anyone try this?

Re: Couple Questions...

First is it an SH model because I have OEM mats and they dont stay in place and have no hole.

Second you should just wax after you wash, if you wax a day later you can do worse than good because you will be wax over stuff that has been on the car the past 24 hours. You should invest in a California Duster, it helps keep the dust off without ruining the wax.

Third I have no idea and would like to know.

disregard this guy entirely

1.preludes never came with oem mats until 2001 regardless of trim level. they were a dealer option until that point, the mats the dealer installed as a option should have installed a little nub type thing that chills out under the seat for the drivers mat to hook up to.

2. a coat of good quality wax should last at least a month under ok conditions. always wash before you wax. DO NOT BUY A CALIFORNIA DUSTER, YOU WILL SCRATCH YOUR PAINT, it will drag all of that stuff all over your paint installing swirls and scratches. if you want to keep dirt off your car and keep it clean between washes use a quick detailer like meguaiars ultimate quick detailer.

3. im not too sure on this one, but if you were to lube the window track i would recommend a lithium type grease.
to do this properly your door panel will need to be removed

my advice to you: wax it again, it will enhance all of the visual properties of the wax
also i have a ? what wax did you use?

Re: Couple Questions...

1st, there is a little spike thing that comes up from right in front of the bottom of your front seat

2nd, use cold water and keep it out of the sun when you wash it. be gentle. do not put moar wax on.

3rd. If anything, lube any part mechanical, dont lube up the seals that touch the window or you will have greasy windows.

I used the Meguiars NTX 2.0 wax. It brought out a bit of more shine to my car, but not too much, was hoping it would make my paint stand out more.

I also used Meguairs Swirl-X before the wax, and it didn't make it difference to the swirls.

First off @$$ I didn't say the mats oem or were in there when the car was bought from the dealer, I simply stated what I had in my car which the previous owner had done whether or not he bought them like that or not. And as far the duster I have used it for over ten years and NEVER had a problem with them after waxing. Just because you have another opinion doesn't give you the right for someone to ignore it. The member asked a question and no one had answered so I offered up my opinion.
