Decreasing the SH turning radius

I was just curious if the SH turning radius decreases when you remove ATTS.

I don't, I'm just curious. The turning radius is atrocious on this car, one of its few shortcomings.

well since atts makes your outside wheal turn faster.... your turning radios should be smaller...
But ya turning is bad... and so is out back seat hahah

Re: Decreasing the SH turning radius

The general purpose of atts is to help the car handle better than an ordinary FWD car. There is in no way possible that it has a negative effect on your car handling. If your atts functions it will outhandle any other prelude and some other cars except if they have suspension work done. If you do coilovers and sway bars you should be golden because if anything it will only improve handling. Heres more info on atts itself.

There are many factors that turn ATTS on, amount of yaw, speed, how much you've turned the wheel etc. When attempting a U turn from a stop atts would never turn on...

False, the base is 18.1', SH is 18.7'

Not really talking about handling per say, more about U turns and parking.

Re: Decreasing the SH turning radius

Adding the 4ws rear end from a BB8 chassis would decrease the turning circle. However you may run into much trouble as there was never a factory build Prelude with both ATTS and 4ws.

Alternatively, you could pull the ABS fuse, stomp on the middle pedal, spin the steering wheel to full lock, release the brakes and the car will whip around quickly. Using the hand brake at the weight transfer point can also decrease the turning circle. However neither of these should ever be used on the street, or street related ares such as shopping centre car parking areas.
