Noise related to axle?

Hey what up yall?
ite so starting like a week or 2 ago my car makes like this almost knocking sound from the driver side of the car like if i go over a bump, and sometimes it knocks randomly. I not to long ago replaced clutch and axles and the CV boot is good so i was thinking that the axle nut somehow came loose but its not and i know i torqued the nut down to bout 200ft-lbs even tho its supposed to b 189ft-lbs i think. neway so looked round and and made sure everything was down tight and it is but still making noise. also ever since i did my clutch car has been pulling to right a lil even after getting it "aligned". so ne1 hav any ideas what it could b?

Re: Noise related to axle?

the pull could be related to an axle . did you buy cheap axles ?? if so the noise could be the axle also (i wouldnt suspect an axle for a thump noise thought ) . usually an axle makes noise when turning if its when you go over bumps something in the sus . either a ball joint or sway bar links ( these both make thud noises ) . wheel bearings usually make a growling noise not a thump . axles are a clicking noise .

i originally thought the noise had something to do with the ball joint cause i replace 1 lower ball joint but not the other 1 but it ended up it was the sway bar links so neway no more clunk noise. still pulling to right tho..... o and the axles i got from advance auto brand new.

Re: Noise related to axle?

jack up the front of the car and turn the wheels is one harder than the other ?? check the brakes and make sure ones not hanging up ... if its an axle your prolly gonna feel it bind at one part of the rotation ( same spot every rotation ) if it gets tight mark a spot on the tire rotate it and see if it gets tight in the same spot again .. advanced axles are trash .. ive had problems with them right out of the box before . i wont use them anymore .. napa is about as cheap as ill go ..

Re: Noise related to axle?

check bolts on your shocks. this happens with my rear passenger shock. somehow it seems to loosen itself. (the middle nut thats actually on the shock post)
