HID Color change question.

So, my friend who drives an is300 has his stock hid kit, which is pure white. After I got my 6k hid kit from ddm tuning, he wanted the same color output as mine. So, he was wondering if he had to change the whole bulbs and ballast to get it to 6k , or can he just get 6k bulbs and plug and play.

I read somewhere on some other forum that the ballast only powers the bulbs and the bulbs make the color.

I'm just double checking with my knowledgeable fellow luders. thanks.

Re: HID Color change question.

yes the bulb is the one that determines the color...but projector housings can also affect the colors

Re: HID Color change question.

he just needs to change the bulb, and since he has an IS300, he needs to get D2R bulbs since he has reflector housings and not projectors
