Led in city lights.

I really want to convert my incandescent city lights, its amber and my hids are 6k. Is it ok to replace them with leds in the headlights. I remember when I purchsed some leds from superbrightleds.com, they said that putting them in headlights can blow them or something like that. Did anyone ever put leds as the city lights? If so, what do you suggest? thanks.

Re: Led in city lights.

I have had LED in my head lights for almost 4 years now.
I got the 194 style lights (RED) to replace my parking lights.
Never had any problems yet. Best $5 I have spent.

Driving lights you'll be fine with. If you do the turn signals though you have to buy a different type of fuse for them or they won't blink right.

Actually you can use the LED in the blinkers as well. The only thing that I noticed was they have a hyper fast flash if you don't get the correct relay for the less wattage the LED have. Nothing bad will come from this. I have them on my S2000, and it is pretty cool.

Re: Led in city lights.

Did you guys use regular leds, or does it have to be leds made specifically for headlight housings?

Did you guys just use the regular 168/194 leds from superbrightleds.com?

Any of the 194 bulbs should work. Just make sure that they will fit into the hole correctly. I recommend getting a multi-L.E.D. bulb with a good light spread. You don't want it to only be bright from one angle.

I used these for my interior map lights, 194 168 W5W 2825 Map Led Parking Signal Marker Bulbs the "5 LED WEDGE MATRIX LED BULB". Just like I said, double check the width of the bulb to the hole it goes in. I had this problem when I did the cruise control cluster in my car. The bulbs I ordered we're to big and now I'm waiting for my new ones to come in.
