K20A

Ok, 2 questions. lol. would it b worth it to drop the K20A down into a 5th gen Prelude that is if it would fit. Also what all do ya think would have to be changed besides mounts and harness? I'm just curious. Thanks :)

Re: K20A

It fits. If I remember correctly, HASport makes a mount kit for it. As far as axles, I have no clue. I don't like the K-series. I think they sound terrible and they're overrated. However, I'm a hater because I love the H-series, the "big block" of Honda four-bangers.

By all means, don't let my hating sway you from the K-series.

not swayed. i wasn't really set on it. still not. i have to do my research still. figure out which engine will b better in long run. know what i mean. besides, idk if i can justify myself buyin one engine for nearly 6k instead of just payin 4k for H22 and still have the same HP lol...

You'll have more fun in an H22 3G than you would in a K20 5G.

Re: K20A

Having spent significant time in the seats of a H22 3g, I struggle to come up with a street car that could possibly be as much fun...well, this side of a 911 GT2RS anyways.

The K can be swapped in, (refer post 2 for details) and can be a worthwhile swap IF you plan on going big. In standard form the K engines make similar power and torque to the H, making the extra time, effort and cash for the swap a waste. However the aftermarket for the K-series is massive compared to the H, and realistically you can build a ballistic engine (NA or boosted, it's your choice!) for far less than it would take to build a similar power H22/G23 application. Of course much of this saving would be gobbled up by the expense of the swap, so in reality you wouldn't be that far in front. However the K swap hasn't been done very much, so you'd have almost ultimate baller status.

Re: K20A

it funny...i was like the 6th person in GA with the new Si's when they came out and there werent squat out for K's really. now there are more mods than the H's? lol heavy
its funny what a little love gets u.
i know that Integras/RSXs, CRV's, Accords, Elements, and Civics all have K's now.
Were the Ludes the only cars with H's.
the older CRV's had B20's right?

In the states, yeah. Accords in some other countries got them as well.

Yeah as far as I know older CRV's only had the B20, but I could be mistaken.

Re: K20A

puttin the K in may make make give me baller status but after looking at some of the problems with the H swap i think i'll just stick with the H swap plus i seen a vid of a 480WHP 3g with h22, OMG lol. that is pretty cool. thanks for all the imput. btw i'm in ga too. its hard to find a gud mech around where i am or maybe i'm just not lookin hard enuff.

Re: K20A

well this is what i learned here in GA. all the good mechanics are far away. like cumming, winder, powder springs and such. the most known mechanics i can think of atm are Turbo Dave, Sammy (Tiger Racing), Madavi Motorsports, Balance Performance, and uhhh drew a blank lol.
but yeah look those places/people up.

and on the K/H series thing...thats why there isnt much for our cars. not many models had them. oh well unique is good

Re: K20A

yeah tru story, lol. my car looks like crap, i'm just visualizing what it will look like after i get done. the previous owner rode it hard and put it up wet. i'm still fixing it to where it runs ok. my biggest thing left is paint, and a swap. thats about it. the rest is just minor things :-) i think after i get a paintjob it will be easier for me to be patient. right now its this ugly primer black and gray. just not my cup of tea lol
