helpp, possibly cylinder misfire

my cel was blinking as i was driving and i felt a little shake

(i have read other forums and aaa1 help thingy)

i want to know is that is my engine damaged?

can i still drive my car locally?

btw the cel light was on b4 for ..catalyst system threshold below one

i know cylinder misfires can damage my cat, but id rather it damage the cat than engine any day

i have a 2000 prelude at 120k miles

Re: helpp, possibly cylinder misfire

if its MIL light is on and flashing it means theres a misfire going on and the blinking means its so bad that its damageing that cat if i were u i stop driving it and fix the problem because its gonna try to keep leaning out ur A/F mixture and it will damage ur engine

Re: helpp, possibly cylinder misfire

check the plug wires make sure theres spark in each cylinder. if your dizzy is messed up it can cause the random misfires.

and dont drive it

All but one cylinder? You sure 3 wasn't also. Then if so it points towards coil maybe?

the below threshold sounds like a O2 sensor code....

Have you tried pulling your plugs yet to see how they look?

I wouldn't touch the EGR just yet. If you are having misfire codes its not due to the EGR, fix the misfires first then work on the EGR.
