Bug Deflector

Anybody have one of these installed? If so how far does it reach up the hood?

Re: Bug Deflector

I wouldnt mind seeing one in person on a 5th gen. If you happen to get one make sure to do a product review on it.

^ ^ Agree! Think it will look horrible on a 5th Gen. But that's just my opinion.

I would agree, but it just so happens that I have a nice dent on my hood where the bug defector will be mounted. Much cheaper than replacing the hood, which I would do if I had the money and a paint job that wasn't over 12 years old.

Re: Bug Deflector

Same thing happened to my first accord when I got a huge dent from an accident but I had to buy a Bra to cover the dent.

Re: Bug Deflector

I love it when people dismiss practical parts as being crap because they don't like the look of them.

At the end of the day, this is a part whose only purpose in life is to keep bugs and stone chips from damaging the leading edge of your hood. Am I a gearbox? Am I a pencil? Am I a cauliflower? Am I a nuclear power station? I'm a bug deflector! Oh to hell with it, I'm going to deflect some bugs!

I would rock one on my 4G if I could find one at a good price. I think it'd look good.

It serves a purpose, we understand that, but using this logic makes no sense to me.

Why would the aftermarket industry exist if people didnt have an opinion on how their cars looked? Besides mods under the hood every car would be stock!! No awesome rims, or sweet paint jobs, just because we already have the practical parts needed to go from A to B.

I would personally buy a bra before the plastic piece. I think they look a **** ton better.

Re: Bug Deflector

Update, the guy emailed me saying they didn't actually have it in stock and that if I wanted I could wait 6-8 weeks for the factory to consider making one. So scratch that I'm just going to have to save up for a CF hood and deal with the dent.
