removing Cat converter

i want to remove the converter i was planning on putting a test pipe in place of it. Does anyone know if this will make my check engine light come on ? Thanks

yes it will make a cel pop up

i have a way of cheating it . you can buy these pieces called spark arrestors ( spaces the secondary out of the flow of exhaust ) you need to stack up two of them the first one needs to be drilled out to 1/2 in then thread the o2 into that then stack one more underneath it and thread the o2 with the 2 spark arrestors into the bung . good to go no cel

use the defouler plug it will help u pass ur inspection an it wont throw check engine light ok
go to autozone buy 2 bore out one, put o2 into it
screw that into the other one then screw that into the cat or test pipe
an u done

just make sure wen you buy pipe do not call it a test pipe

I think someone probably has already answered this for you. But getting that sucker off is going to take some work I recommend cutting the bolts off. I have a test pipe with an O2 sensor bung in it, not sure if it will throw a code or not as you will have both sensors in place most test pipe would negate your aft O2 sensor.

I'll sell it to you for $10 plus shipping.
