Fitting HID's?

I bought a HID conversion(H1) kit for my 5th gen. can't install it. i followed the directions, the lightbulb doesn't fit/lock it to the stock socket part of the housing. does anybody have a video of them installing the same kind of kit into their car? i tried searching all over and couldn't find anything..

On HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning, I read the instruction quickly but apparently you have a make a bigger hole yourself.

Re: Fitting HID's?

Then quit f***ing with it. If you haven't gotten it to work already, you probably won't in the future either.

This is exactly what you need. I had the same problem with my HID's, then I got these "X clips" and after installed it worked and fit perfectly.

Re: Fitting HID's?

Bend the metal clip so it's more narrow and holds the bulb better.

Same here. It took forever, tweeking it a little bit then trying it, then bend it some more and try it, and so on. When you get it just right, its perfect and holds the bulb nice and tight.

Re: Fitting HID's?

Just did this install today. I wanted to be sure I didn't alter anything permanently, so I can rip the whole thing out if I sell the car or want to get rid of the HIDs.

Easiest thing for me to do was to use the plastic washer that came with the HIDs. I snipped it with a pair of wire cutters to get it off (imagine that it was an "O" and I turned it in to a "C"), and then snipped around the edges to make it a tiny bit smaller. Then I test fit it in the housing, slid the washer down to the bulb, and snapped the metal clip on top. It took a couple tries, but it worked.

Re: Fitting HID's?

ok.. so. a while ago i crashed my prelude. :(
but i'm fixing it now and got new headlights and attempted to install my HID's in them so they wouldn't be IN the car and be the most cramped space ever. I got one in :D
grabbed the other ballast, oh f***. i forgot about the plastic washer i had cut off. BUT i found another one that came from somewhere i can't process. then thought, how the hell is this going to work? so i tried just stretching it over the bulb.
HUZZAHH!!!! it worked!
