H23 to H22 swap question

i have a blown h23 engine and thought itd be a good time to put a h22 in.
so i was just wondering is there anything else i would have to buy, or since they're both H series would it just drop in so to speak. like im pretty sure the tranny of the h23 can work for the h22 right?
thanks, don't flame me if the answers to my questions aree pretty obvious pleasee

just realized i was tryna post this in the 4th gen forum. and i dont know how to move it so if someone could tell me or do it for me i'd appreciate it.

Re: H23 to H22 swap question

You'll need an H22 ECU (P13), and you'll need to wire up the VTEC solenoid. That's all I know, and there is possibly more.

Re: H23 to H22 swap question

New ECU, Wiring Harness (possibly?), and it's a good idea to swap the gauge cluster too.

Re: H23 to H22 swap question

You will need the P13 ECU (the H22's native ECU). IF you don't get ahold of an H22 harness, you can just run 2 wires yourself for VTEC (VTEC solenoid and pressure switch). At least I think it's just two. The H23 trans will work fine with the H22. HOWEVER, depending on the year of your car and the year of the H22 to you get ahold of, you might run into some minor problems. Just to be safe and simple, if your car is OBD1, get an OBD1 H22. If your car is OBD2, get an OBD2 H22. It will be much cheaper and easier in the long run lol.

If he's asking about what he needs to just do a basic h22 swap, I dont think he would be able to pull off a h23vtec frankenstein. Those builds are very tough to get running rite and require alot of different parts. Its not like a lsvtec into a civic. No offense at all to the op, but i have heard that it is a very difficult swap if u dont know what ur doing.(the h23vtec that is)
