Re: wheels and offset Q?

Offset is the distance between the wheel centerline and the hub surface -- see Wheel Tech - Offset. Offset on the stock 4th and 5th gen wheels is 55mm (roughly 2 inches), which is pretty high, but you can generally get away with less as long as you don't get obnoxious. 48mm will work so long as you're not lowered too much. You don't want negative offset -- that's a deep dish wheel, which would interfere with the fender.

It depends on the way the wheel's built -- they're not directly related. The lip -- the wheel rim surface outboard of the structure connecting the hub and the rim -- doesn't stick straight out from the wheel spokes, so you can easily have 2-4 inches of lip on a high-offset wheel. Or not.

your opinion on these rims
Nice wheels on a black car. Would look like crap on my sliver one. Hard to say whether they'll rub if you're lowered 2 inches. If you're stuffing a wide tire on there -- a 225, for example -- they'll rub. 205s (the stock width), they might not. Raise the car up a half-inch, and I'd say you're safe...if you have adjustable spring perches, you can play with it and see where it fits best.
