Doing clutch install - Should I remove A-Arm or Separate Ball Joint

I am doing a clutch install, what is the best way to remove the axles? Should I separate the ball joints like the Helm suggest or should I unbolt the pivot on the a-arm like someone else mentioned? Any help would be appreciated

Re: Doing clutch install - Should I remove A-Arm or Separate Ball Joint

haven't done one on the 5th yet, but have on a 2nd and 3rd Gen. I honestly can't remember but I think I did seperate the ball joint. But I replaced the whole motor. I decided to pull the engine and tranny together that worked out much better actually, but for just pulling the tranny for a clutch job, I have no idea. I would follow the helms, that is probably the perfered method.
