my 98 sh started throwing the code for the vss, and i can't find it. pics would be helpful. i accidentally dumped gas all over the engine compartment, and i want to clean the connections before replacing it. either way i need to know where it is. all i have found so far is that it is on top of the trany. thanks

has anyone ever changed one of these? i searched, but all i could find was the 4th gen one. if i just undo the screws and replace the new one, do i have to take the bolts off?

Re: does anyone know where the speed sensor is located?

In my illustration above....the 3 bolts you see you dont have to remove bc if you're gonna change your sensor it's the whole unit you see in the pic.

The bolts you should remove temp to switch to the new sensor are the ones that go through the 2 holes on either side of where the metal bracket of the sensor which is the lower half. The 3 bolts holding the plastic to the metal bracket you jus leave as is.
