wheel problem

got all the stuff fixed while i was home that i wanted to, drove back to ohio, got 50 miles from my apartment and ran over some kind of rodent. car shakes like hell, prolly dented my rim.

gonna put on my spare to make sure its just the tire/rim and not any S+S components.

anyone got any suggestions? can rims be fixed or new one? i think im going to try and balance it first, force matching should help to bring it under control for the time being.

the sht never ends

This reminds me of the commercial with the squirrels. Sneaky lil bastards. If your rim is bent I know here there are a couple of places that can repair them.Good luck with it

Re: wheel problem

I hit a patch of fresh asphalt one time and it got stuck to my tire and shook like f**k til I scraped it off lol. I doubt this is your situation, but it was funny nonetheless.

What kind of wheels do you have? Two of my Racing Hart wheels had a couple bends in them, and a local shop fixed em for me. No more damage is showing up yet, and they balance fine.

Re: wheel problem

To be honest I don't know if it actually bent the rim. Might be something else, just guessing. More diagnoses is needed.

To dbd - **** you lol

To fezz - No fur or blood, suprisingly, but I was doing 80mph on the highway. Prolly to fast for anything to stick...

more later, class just ended...

I doubt the rodent did that damage, do you have any curb rash? I ask because I had to replace one of my RSX type S 16" wheels it had some curb rash but didn't look that bad, but the tire technician came out when I was putting on my new michelins and said the wheel would hardly balance and he recommended replacing it. So I did, I would take it in and ask them how much weight was needed to get it balanced if it is a significant amount I would say look for a replacement rim or wheel.

Re: wheel problem

Well I want to replace the rims, but right at the moment I have to:

Replace clutch and flywheel
Replace tires
Replace front lower ball joints

Which all costs money I do not have.

Anyway the rims aren't bent, turns out the rodent I hit shifted the belt in the tire. According to firestone anyway. Yep. Apparently hankook is not a very good tire either. I'm thinking about going back to stock, getting stock tires and rims somewhere. Honestly I'm tired of dealing with this BS.

Also if anyone knows where I can find package deals on clutches/flywheels let me know. (Fidanza 8lb. and Exedy or ACT stage 1) I have no idea how to use eBay, its such a pain in the ass to navigate.

Re: wheel problem

Hankook is hit or miss. I'm running Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires on my Prelude. They're a little pricey, but they're champs in both wet and dry weather.

EDIT: Forgot, you're 5th gen lol.

eBay is not that bad, but you'll need someone with a paypal account most the time, there is never cash transactions anymore.

Look on these forum sites I found my fidanza clutch on this particular site as a matter of fact, I got the flywheel on eBay.

Here you go eBay for the budget minded

F1 STAGE 1 CLUTCH & 12LBS RACING FLYWHEEL 92-01 PRELUDE: eBay Motors (item 350321369141 end time Sep-22-10 18:13:35 PDT)

This has the fidanza flywheel and Exedy clutch

EXEDY CLUTCH KIT & FIDANZA FLYWHEEL 92-01 HONDA PRELUDE: eBay Motors (item 400125800178 end time Aug-29-10 09:38:59 PDT)

another package

F1 STAGE 3 CLUTCH KIT& FIDANZA FLYWHEEL ACCORD PRELUDE: eBay Motors (item 400117260282 end time Sep-20-10 14:26:37 PDT)

Do you need anymore

Just type in a search like on the forums, enter in "fidanza Honda Prelude"

boom there they are.

If you buy an F1 clutch, I will drive my ass to NJ and kick you right in the testicles. I'm dead serious. They're GARBAGE. Trust me.

Don't plan on it. Going to go Exedy/Fidanza, come hell or high water.

Or maybe ACT. But prolly Exedy.
