Hey guys, my engine was experiencing some rod knocking, kept stalling and died when i got it home. havnt driven my baby in about a month or two. I bought the 99 lude 5speed in december, bought new tranny in febuary. if its the engine i dont want to toss the car.

has anyone done this swap \\\? with any complications or very litte? any information is helpful.

Im planning on getting a motor from hmotorsonline. if thats the issue.
In my opinion its not a bad idea, even if the engine isnt the problem, ill bave peace of mind and not have to worry about mechanical issues.

Hopefully its the timing belt or flywheel that is the cause of the knocking but my friends dad ( mechnic) stopped by my house said a bad rod bearing) only reason i dont believe him is he didnt look at the car for too long. i cant get it to a shop.. the warantee on hmo says i have to replace timing belt water pump spark plug spark plug wires the rotor and tensioner belt for it to be valid if replacing the engine. could it be possible one of these issues is the problem instead of the engine?

it comes from an accord sport wagon, discontinued in america but i heard it shouldnt be a problem if im planning to swap it in quickly, its not plug and play but it will bolt into the engine bay...?

i hve 2 weeks until school starts, i have no car, family isnt very helpful, jus tryna figure this out.

post a sound clip of what your car sounds like for like 5 seconds. that'll be 100x easier to tell you what it can be. I had a horrible sound coming from the engine, a friend looks at it says spun rod. i was like wtf? then my uncle hears it for few seconds and finds out it was the belt tensioner and he fixed it. So if you can post a clip man

as a mechanic in about 2 seconds of hearing your car run i could tell you if it was a rod knock . i would believe what he told you . its not rocket science to a person who is used to dealing with cars all day .

well i am just considering all the options, and as a mechanic going out of his way, probably would say anything to leave. Ill try to get that sound clip up asap. Id rather it be the timing belt or flywheel or tensioner. way cheaper than swapping
