Parking lights on our 5th Gens

So what came in our cars from the factory? Clear or amber lights? My car wasn't going to pass Virginia State Inspection because my parking lights were clear. I know the side markers are supposed to be amber as the lenses were amber but I switched them to clear, so that was wrong, but I have never touched the parking lights inside of the headlight assembly. I thought they came from the factory as clear. Am I right or wrong?

Thanks
Rob

Re: Parking lights on our 5th Gens

What are you referring to as parking lights?

There is a small T10 bulb (wedge) inside the headlights, that operates when you click the headlights to position 1. They were "white" from factory. The side markers that you northern americans have in the sides of the front bumper (I believe from looking at brochure shots) were amber from factory.

Re: Parking lights on our 5th Gens

the lenses on the front bumper have an amber plastic in them from the factory which makes the clear bulb appear amber. If you have replaced them with a clear lense, you should have an amber bulb to be legal.

i think hes talking about the parking lights in the actual headlight.

i think you are referring to the turn signals.

I dont know the laws on parking lights for my state, but I know I have to have amber turn signals, so when I got smoked turn signals I bought amber bulbs.

yeah Mate, thats the ones I'm talking about, seems the new mechanic at my guys garage didn't like the clear bulbs and wanted to fail me on inspection but this was a USDM 1997 Honda Prelude that was even bought in virginia and stayed in virginia and now its own state says it would have failed inspection right off the lot. Just sounds plan stupid is all.

I guess with these hard times they are just trying to scare up work I guess.

I got that one, yes I think even in my post I said I was wrong. But the T 10 bulbs inside the headlight have never been touched. Those were the bulbs he was going to fail me on.
