i need to find the ecu plug

I woke up this.morning turned on my prelude and boom after about 3 min of driving the check the engine light comes on and i can find the plug on the car to hook up the computer to find out the code. Does anyone here know where to find this plug is it hidden?i have a 98 prelude non sh thxx

thx but according to what i read there are preludes dont have a OBDII PLUG its decription on how to check the ecu is the same as on my old 92 accord coupe!Ok well i guess ill just do it lol

on the passengers side of the console there is a carpet covered panel that pops off. the port is under that panel

Sit in the passenger seat. Near your left leg by the radio console there should be a small panel that can be removed. Remove it and you should see a somewhat rectangular female socket. That's where you connect the reader to to determine what codes ur car is throwing.

Thanks guys for all the help i found the port and checked the ecu the code came back to be catalitic deterioration aka bad cat so thats what im have to take car of lol

when obd ii came to light by the government in 1995, they standardized where it was supposed to be,


this has been stated in many government reports, its was supposed to be underneath the instrument cluster

Yea I know.



But under the instrument panel is a rather loose term, and they like to put it wherever the hell they want anyway. Its always technically under the instrument panel, but it could be under the steering column, behind a kick panel, etc.
