ATTS...non-existent?

I was under the impression that an SH with the ATTS module not connected to the ECU would not run.

I don't really know if mine is connected or not, but what I do know is that my ATTS light has never, ever come on. As far as I know, this has not caused any issues. Car drives fine. Shifts like sht but that's prolly cuz my clutch is smoked.

Any ideas?

Any at all? Honestly this is the least of my priorities on a long list of things that need to be fixed on my car. So don't hesitate to throw ideas out there.

Re: ATTS...non-existent?

the ATTS unit has it own seperate computer which is located next to the car's ECU on the passangerside of the car under the carpet. If your ATTS light isn't coming on, then you don't have any problems

Re: ATTS...non-existent?

But it should light up when you turn the key correct? During the, ah, "self-test" when you put the key in and turn it til all the dash lights pop on? Shouldn't it light up for a second like all the others then disappear and stay off for the duration of driving. But pop on for a brief second or two when you first start 'er up, like the check engine light and such?

I really hope you get what I'm trying to get at cuz if not I don't know how to describe this any differently.

It's sad that people would do that but...that's the world we live in.

Re: ATTS...non-existent?

is ur check engine light is on? if yes, the ATTS light should be lit too. If the check engine light is off, the atts light should be off as well. They light up together i believe(correct me if im wrong) no matter if it is an angine problem or ATTS problem. Check the cluster if it has the bulb in it.

Second, call the guy who u bought it from and kick his a**

Re: ATTS...non-existent?

Hey thanks man, I was looking for how to do it but all the ones I saw assumed you already knew how to take it out.

Hell...while I'm at it I might as well do my gauge bezels...

Haven't gotten much done in the way of mods yet, been too busy trying to get the dam thing fixed...

Re: ATTS...non-existent?

Prolly gonna focus on other things for now though. Cuz once I look back there, if the bulb is missing then I have to replace it, and once I do that chances are it'll be lit, then I need to look up the codes, fix whatever the codes say, see if it works......

Not a can of worms I really want to open this week. Maybe in the next couple weeks I'll look into it, right now I got a laundry list of stuff that needs to be done to that car.

Just kidding but yes shady, seems the previous owner or owners wanted to hide the fact it had problems and either cut the wire to the bulb or took it out completely.

Re: ATTS...non-existent?

Yea I should have figured, pretty much everything the guy told me was utter nonsense. I've made posts on it before, its why I wanted to replace my engine/trans so I could start fresh. Still plan on doing it but its gonna be a couple years.

He has told me:
1. It has an aftermarket exhaust (its stock)
2. It had a new engine/trans (nope)
3. It had aftermarket headers (pretty sure they're SH stock)
4. It had all new seals and gaskets (rear main went out two days after I bought it)

And the list goes on trust me. I'll get around to checking it in the next couple weeks, got too much to fix on it at the moment already.
