Harness wiring disaster

I was planning on starting the car tonight with the new h22a.. but me and a friend spent the last hour trying to figure out where this wire plugs into.... Its a 3 prong plug that splits from the 2 vtec plugs.

The plug from the right side of the pic....

Tried to connect it to the sensor that is next to the fuel rail....
(only one unplugged in this pic)

But it just does not reach, its attached to the main dizzy by a blue zip tip/clips thing so it wouldn't even be close to reaching...

Did i complete and utterly fuk this up? Or am i just retarded?

Im probably not real clear on this due to lack of sleep. Sorry and tahnks ahead of time!

Re: Harness wiring disaster

im pretty sure it goes to a sensor that is located on the thermostat on your old motor(temp sensor). im about 90% done with my jdm h22a swap into my 4th gen and i have the same plug and sensor on my h23a1 harness, but no sensor on the jdm motor.

Re: Harness wiring disaster

did you sawp to the external coil distributor? the intermnal coil ones that came on ythe jdm h22a go bad that could cause it not to start, that would be where the wire goes

Re: Harness wiring disaster

It looks to be for the EGR valve cause I notices in your pic that it's not plugged up. I can't think if the color wires that go to it, but that's the type of plug that goes to it
