Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

My abs light keeps coming on cause my wheel sensor keeps splitting, everyone keeps saying delete abs anyway. I was never a fan of the idea but i figure i might as well do it. I havent searched much cause im still thinking about it but if theres any thread about this or if there is a delete kit for a bb6 lmk please.

Im just worried about my wheels locking up at high speeds if theres a situation where i have to brake asap, other then that ill lose some weight and get a decent amount of space in my engine bay from taking it out.

Give me your thoughts on it, more appreciated from ppl that race, not the safety freaks driving bone stock cars telling me not to do it.lol

Thanks

Re: Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

Why do you keep breaking wheel sensors? I broke one one time because the jackasses at Sears didn't put my wheel on all the way, but that was it lol.

As far as the delete goes...you'd have to pull out your pump/modulator/etc., get rid of all the hardlines, and get custom hardlines made and feed them to a prop valve. There's probably other stuff but...eh...I'm tired...and sick...so sorry if I forgot some stuff.

Re: Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

i plan on deleting my ABS as soon as i pull my motor out, which should be pretty soon, cuz it looks like it'll be an absolute PITA w/ the motor in the car.

but since 5G's were never offered w/o ABS (like 4G prelude S models), your gonna hafta run custom brake lines

Re: Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

I deleted that **** and never looked back. I brake hard from boosting and never locked my wheels yet. Don't stomp on the brakes and learn the threshold point of locking versus not locking during extreme situations and you'll be fine.

But my recommendation > delete ABS when the motor is out, or else it would be such a pain that you'll end up breaking other **** in the process. Be ready to run custom brakes lines from your prop-valve to your calipers. Buy a brake double flaring tool, brake line bending tool, different lengths of brake line, 10mm and 12mm flare nut wrenches, and among other things ..

My catch-can setup now goes to that location where my ABS modulator once was.
I say its a worth-while mod .. good luck !

Re: Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

Where is the prop valve located, is it incorporated in the abs system? My friend said I should get the integra 40 40 prop valve, is the prelude 30 40 or 40 40?

Re: Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

your prop valve is incorporated into the ABS module, when you remove that you also remove your prop valve .. which is fine because you will have to get another prop valve and relocate.
My prop valve is also from the Integra and it works just fine.
Your 'lude currently has a four-way metal splitter that joins the brake lines from all four corners .. this is located somewhat under the brake booster .. just follow your brake lines downwards and you will see the metal fitting. This has to come off and go into the trash, its not needed, it is not a prop valve, just simply a four-way splitter for brake fluid.
^ Your prop valve ( bought seperately ) will go into that exact located where you removed the splitter from. There are two threaded holes already where you can bolt the prop valve to. Just run your brake lines into the prop valve and you are done.

Re: Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

Lol. Real ballers run the prop valve in the cabin :P But hells yeah bro, pull the engine and then rip that **** out, it's on my to do list once something extreme goes wrong with the engine in my lude lol. Pull the engine, redo my brake lines, and then drop the new engine in and already have a fully tucked bay (ABS is the only thing left >:|)

Re: Your thoughts on deleting abs.?

I've already taken out my abs pump (abs light was on and I had the motor out to install new clutch with lightened flywheel). Just gotta bend up some new lines.

Im also taking the time to paint the motor replace all seals and clean up the engine bay

since the car was in an accident when I bought it 7 years ago, I guess ill straighten out the bent frame/ inner structure. Also I have my eye on a pair of the projector headlights on ebay anyone know if they're any good?

you might, MIGHTTTT be able to do it w/ the engine in the car, since the ABS module/system is in the right front of the engine bay in 5G's which is way, wayyyy more easily accessible than in the left rear of 4G's, next to the IM.
but bending the new lines is still gonna suck going under the IM/behind the motor.
