Scraped the bottom of my car :(

My 00' lude is really low. it has tein lowering springs and thin tires. its barely off the road. but, i was on a dirt road with alot of rocks..i wasnt driving but it was just to park on. When i was backing up, i didnt see a little round pot hole, not too big but enough to lower and uneven the car. i kept on backing up and i hear the bottom of my car scraping. i took it out and looked under and didnt really see any damage but i was wondering what could have been damaged. could anyhting be damaged that could affect my driving? i was going really slow

Re: Scraped the bottom of my car :(

Just jack it up man... probably only a few scratches on your exhaust. Wouldn't sweat it unless it's obvious something broke.

Re: Scraped the bottom of my car :(

Yeah just don't scrape the front end lol. I have seen dudes scrape the oil pan, and then it cracks and they leak madd oil while driving, and end up blowing the engine from oil deprivation because they cracked the pan and it all leaked out :P

Re: Scraped the bottom of my car :(

Lol! You haven't had the car long have you? Get used to it. Its not the only time it will happen. Long wheelbase and overhanging front end is good for LOTS of scraping. Drive slow and pay attention. You'll be fine. When you bottom the front the cross member takes it the worst which really idnt a big deal.

Same here. I scrap going up and down my driveway and the only thing that's scraping is my exhaust. Scraping is a common thing for lowered cars, so it's nothing to really worry about. Now if you hear a LOUD noise when running over something, then you may have a problem

wheres the dent?
having a dent in your exhaust can affect your perfomance FYI
dents before the muffler are critical etc. header ,downpipe

Re: Scraped the bottom of my car :(

Yeah, you get used to having a lower car (then most of the market). In no time you'll be able to tell if your car's gonna scrape on say a driveway or something of that sort. To generally fix, or help driveway scraping is to go down it at an angle.

I have one of those Hy-tech replica headers, and it's on the last piece of the down pipe since the header comes in 3 seperate pieces.
