EGR bolts shaved

ok so recently i got a CEL... it read P401... i looked it up and it is EGR Flow Insufficient. i researched it and tried to follow this...

yet... while trying to take the bolts off the EGR... i tried taking the inner bolt out and little did I know... i shaved the bolt...... the bolt I guess was warm and dull... and i shaved it.... anyone have any ideas on how to take it out before i spend hundreds at the shop??

Re: EGR bolts shaved

you could always buy one of those tapping sets or see if you can hammer on a smaller socket!

Re: EGR bolts shaved

so I finally got around and doing this yesterday.... not hard.. just trouble getting the plugs out and cleaning... i cleaned as much as i could.... it is not completely clean but the ports are open and the egr is cleaned... so .. check engine light is off and the car seems to run smoother.. not idling problem anymore... but i only test drove it for less than a mile...
