Pilot bearing on a 97?

Hello everyone
Very impressed with the forum so far and its helpful members.
Im the type that usually lurks and finds answers for himself.

I ordered the clutch kit for my 97 prelude and it did not come with the pilot bearing. Now from what I understand preludes didn't come with the pilot bearing.
Friend mechanic tried convincing me that they do so there is some confusion here.

Does it come with the pilot bearing or not?

Much appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Pilot bearing on a 97?

almost all manual cars come with a pilot (aka throwout) bearing.
you can try contacting the clutch company to see if they'll send you one, or you can just buy one from honda.

Re: Pilot bearing on a 97?

The pilot bearing is on the flywheel. F/H do not have pilot bearings, B/D do

pilot bearing is different then throwout bearings,

he is asking for a pilot bearing, prelude's don't have one.

Re: Pilot bearing on a 97?

Yes. Preludes have a throwout, not a pilot.

/thread

And what clutch did you get/where did you order it from? I ordered my clutch and flywheel in a combo package so I'm not sure if the throwout bearing comes with the clutch or flywheel.
