Prelude33 is on a distinguished road

So a while back i swapped my H22a4 with a H22a. I still have the stock ECU. To be getting maximum performance should i buy a obd1 ecu to match the motor? i know obd1 is easier and better to tune, so eventually i will get one. But is it esential to have to be getting full performance? thanks
