Stock head unit specs?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to replace my stock speakers (front and rear) with aftermarket ones. I want to keep the stock head unit also, so I'm trying to find speakers that match the output wattage of the stock head unit. Does anyone know the output of the head unit, or its specs? I don't know much about speakers or car audio, so any suggestion is appreciated.

Re: Stock head unit specs?

the headunit is only like 10 watts. any aftermarket speakers will have more power handling capability than that. all you need to worry about is getting the right size to fit the stock hole. if you have a 5th gen prelude the back speakers cant be easily replaced because they have microphones and crap back there with them.

Re: Stock head unit specs?

it is the comparator amplifier for the rear speaker microphone combination. its really hard to replace the back speakers in the car because of the system honda created. the doors arent to bad. just make sure you get ones that fit. i had to make a custom mount for my 5.25 inch speakers because i wanted the best sound but also used a driver that would be to deep.
