Best 6.5 speakers with bass

My front speakers are real bad, a huge disappointment, its ****ty jvc, I'm really looking forward to changing them and not sure what speakers are good. I want something with alot of bass, I don't want any amps or subs, just good bass coming from the front, my rears are ok with pioneers. Anyone have any personal experience with some really good front 6.5 speakers with a lot of bass?

Re: Best 6.5 speakers with bass

front speakers arent supposed to play a lot of bass. that's what subs are for. 6.5 does mid, tweeters do the highs. 6X9/subs handle the bass end

Re: Best 6.5 speakers with bass

It mainly has to do with the construction of the door and the volume of space for the speaker to bounce around in ~ the volume of air manipulated by the movement of the speaker. Your door is maybe.. 3-4in deep and is far from air tight so it's not something you should be trying to get bass out of, because it's not gonna happen.

Re: Best 6.5 speakers with bass

If you want to spend the money, I have JL audio door speakers and they still make me drool when I have my volume cranked. Please tell me you have a new headunit though?

Those babies are it, with my Pioneer Premier headunit they are top notch.

Re: Best 6.5 speakers with bass

quick question, I have a pioneer deck, a p5000ub to be exact, sorrry I just purchased a pair of Pioneer TS-A1683R, and its max power is 280watts, nominal is 50 watts i think, so my headunit is 50w x4, so does that mean the max it can give out to each speakers is 50 watts? Is that bad ?

the 50w max is a bs number. if everyone used that number some of the amps i have can produce 4000w of power. to get bass you will need some power and preferably a sub. but you cant get bass outa door speakers. just doenst work. the 6x9 at the back can give bass if installed properly and given more than the 20w that your deck can put out....

Re: Best 6.5 speakers with bass

You've asked the wrong question. "Best" is a subjective term, and when discussing speakers, the subjective part is how much you plan on spending. I could tell you the best are DynAudio, but since Dyns generally retail brand new at a similar price to your car's resale value I suspect you won't buy them.

And as stated above, door speakers are usually used for mid-bass, not low bass. You can do a good system with a low budget, start with a good quality source unit, decent 4-channel amp, good 6.5" splits and a sub out back (leave the factory rears running off the ddeck, or remove them all together) Good/high quality sound is achievable for a few hundred dollars.

Re: Best 6.5 speakers with bass

as said my brash its very subjective. i put aurum cantus speakers in my doors and they kick ass. for the money i spent of them they outperform much more expensive speakers but for bass they suck. thats why i have a sub. btw to get good sound a big sub is not needed. i put in my honda odyssey one ten inch sub between the front seats with 200w and 50w into to polk audio door speakers. it sounds great. not super loud or super bass but it sounds good. the amp was only 50$ and its a crossfire amp that is cheap but kicks ass.
