Carpet spray paint?

Hi,

I'll make a short story. I went to play pool with some friends tonight and we passed by McDo to grab some foods. As one of my friend was tired, we decided to buy it to go. In the car, my other friend ( a girl) start to open her poutine. I'm like, don't tell me you're gonna eat ( indrectly, don't eat). She was like no worry. 20 seconds later, I turn at the red light and BAM, everything falls on the ground. She stares at me like she didn't know what happened.

I took like 40 minutes to clean that fricken poutine out and she was standing there watching. On my way back, I had a Mc Chicken that I bought. Guess what, she started to eat it...Anyways, I didn't make this to complain or anything but I can't understand why some people just can't listen. Obviously, I'm never gonna go pick her up again.

That was yesterday night when I posted that to an another forum. Actually, I went to morning to see a guy who cleaned the mess. The smell is gone but the stain remained, he told me that I could use some Carpet spray paint to cover it.

Do you guys have others tricks to take off the stains off?
I know it's gonna be a bit hard for referring a product as we're not in the same area but any ideas are welcome.

PS: For those that are not familiar with what a poutine could be.

It's from Quebec so I'm not sure if there's some in the States as well.

Re: Carpet spray paint?

you cannot Paint carpet. It will become bristly and stiff.

if your cleaning dulls, fades, or bleaches the carpet, you can then use a dye to restore the color. This is best done to the entire carpet, not just a spot.

the lesson we learned today?
Floor Mats are a must, you can remove them when showing the car. I would rather destroy a $40 set of mats then EVER have to replace the carpet again.

While this is a valuable lesson, the real lesson here, is when a girl goes to eat something in your car, and you tell her no, but she continues eating anyways, that is when you stop the car, undo your seatbelt, open your door, walk around the car, open her door, and tell her to GTFO.

Re: Carpet spray paint?

Thank you for explaining what poutine is. = )

If that fell on my car she would be dead! I'm pretty sure the oxyclean will work. You might want to scotch guard your carpets just incase someone else decides to sneak a poutine when you're not looking.

Re: Carpet spray paint?

you cant paint carpet but you can dye it, walmart has something called rit dye and if you dont mind taking your carpet out and putting it in a bucket of hot water and dye then this is the thing for you.

also autozone sells a colored spray for fabrics and it doesnt make your carpet stiff or anything.

Re: Carpet spray paint?

Thanks guys for all the advices. Actually, I went to buy this
http://carxnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Oxy.jpg
Some kind of cleaner for the carpet. Unfortunately, after 1 hour of work only half of the stains are gone :(, not sure if I used the right method or I need to let it dry, I may try it later. Yes, I'm from Quebec, actually Montreal. Poutines are great indeed but not when someone eat that in your car.
