Decided to change out my a/c cabin filters for the first time

The filters were never changed once in 9 years so, I decided it was time! Look at all the sh!t that was caked up in the filters and evaporator!

First Filter!

Now all hell begins!

Top filter out, now pulling that nasty crap out by hand!

Everything I was able to get by hand and whats left

After using a shop vac, got it all out with no problem!

Brand new filters compared to old ones

Very easy job, also discovered that my car has 2 6inch blue streetglow lights under the driverside wheel along with the switch and passengerside(broke it in half by accident). Cant wait for my next surprise lol.

Re: Decided to change out my a/c cabin filters for the first time

i think only 99-01s had the filters.

they are behind the glove box.

search and you will find how to do it.

Use this link to buy the filters(You need 2, they are both the same) and also has the link for the diy. It was very easy to do!

Yea, it had like 2 previous owners lol. I know for a fact they were never done once bacause you have to cut off a plastic bar in order to change them.

Re: Decided to change out my a/c cabin filters for the first time

Awesome thanks for the HandA link for the filters and the short writeup on how to get them out. I called my local stealership just to see how much they wanted for them. $30 a piece ...so $60 total plus tax for both of them. So i went ahead when i got home and got to them to see how bad mine are. They are pretty dang black and i do believe i will be ordering some soon enough. Thanks alot for this sweet info!

I thought my filters were bad, but you much of had a few birds living in your car :p

damn, you guys paid way too much for those filters. Could've gone to Import Replacement Parts | Import Performance & OEM Parts and gotten the same thing for way cheaper....
