Re: NEW CLUTCH!!!

don't forget to change out the rear main seal since that seal is known to leak, and since you have the tranny off, it'd be a good time to do it

Re: NEW CLUTCH!!!

Props on doing your research and deciding you wanna get rid of the clutch damper. I have the Exedy Stage 1 (i.e. OEM) clutch and a Fidanza 8lb flywheel. I love it. You won't be disappointed. Just make sure you actually be patient and break your clutch in properly (750 miles as recommended by Exedy if I remember correctly). Trust me, it's HARD not to romp on it for 750 miles, lol.

Did you try heating the bolt up and then removing it?

well if you heat it enough along with everything else around it.... it should just melt right out of there
in all seriousness though, does this actually work?

No problem man. I don't know the physics behind why it works, but it does, and it's extremely helpful. lol

Re: NEW CLUTCH!!!

the reason the heat works is because it helps get rid of the rust build up or just any kind of corrosion that penetrating oils cant penetrate. just make sure you dont put too much heat on it. or else you can end up screwing yourself over. lol

and be careful with the castle nuts. they are a PAIN. sometimes. lol

Re: NEW CLUTCH!!!

Ok so today didnt seem to get alot done because everything seemed to go wrong....everything was SUPER tight and rediculous to break loose and i have now run into a snag with removing the lower part of the xaust manifold so i can get tha last bolt holding the trans on.

so heres what i got done today:
disconnected battery and battery tray

Removed trans harness clamp
disconnected back-up light connectors
disconnected starter cable and trans ground
removed starter
removed clutch joint
removed clutch line
removed slave cylinder
removed shifter cables and bracket
removed cinter beam
removed passenger radius rod
removed castle nut and broke loose the ball joints (1 of the ball joints is busted)
removed damper forks
removed driveshafts from trans
removed engine stiffener
removed trans mount&bracket
removed trans upper bolts and rear engine mount bolts

Re: NEW CLUTCH!!!

k so here are the pics, kinda started out like i was gona do a DIY but ran into sooo many problems i just kinda quit. so here is a partial DIY i could possibly finish when im puttin everything bac.... let me know if yall want it and i might take the extra time. so without futher ado here it begins

battery and intake out

draining the trans fluid

wiring harness bracket

back up light connection

removing starter cable

trans ground bracket

starter cable and ground removed

starter removed(u can see tha 2 starter bolts on tha trans housing)

slave cylinder removed

drained master cylinder resivoir and took it off to clean it up and get tha rust off tha braket and prob paint it

Center beam removed 5 bolts to get that sucker off(theres my butha modeling it LOL)

ok found that removing the radius rod(which u only hav to remove on passenger side) is a B!TCH

so till tomorrow!....

i never was able to separate the intermediate shaft and the axle and now the axle seemed to separate somewhat and i cant push it bac in.....

not tha best pic but ne1 hav this problem. i gota line tha hub up with the LCA hole where the ball joint goes in and cant cause the axle is pulled out or something....if u can see tha boot is back further than it is supposed to and i cant push tha axle bac in. so do i hav to separate it from the intermediate shaft?

Re: NEW CLUTCH!!!

k so new update got tha new driverside axle in and everything torqued down right. tha passenger side where the ball joint broke i got the knuckle off so that when my new lower ball joint comes n i can get tha new 1 pressed in. after that i can get everything together on tha passenger side and can go down the road.

O also i hav to bleed the clutch system. do the "speed bleeders" work with this? i know its gona b a bitch if not cause of all that air n tha system.
