Valve clatter

hey guys i just did my valve clearance/lash adjustments and replaced my cam seal, and i was thinking that this might reduce the valve clatter but it didnt. Was it supposed to idk this is tha 1st time ive ever done it. engine runs fine and torqued everything down right so i was just wonderin if there was a way to reduce the valve clatter.

Re: Valve clatter

hey idk if this will help.. i have a 92 lude and mine chattered and got the valve clearance done yet i could still here it and idk i hear more like a clicking/chattering sound it was strange but when i was looking around i found the PCV valve and for some reason when i took it up and put my finger at the end and let go it sounded exactly like the car sounded when i thought it was chattering/ clicking so idk maybe you can check that out or mabye im wrong since yours is older lol

Re: Valve clatter

so im not sure what ur sayin........tha PCV valve shouldnt have nething to do with tha clatter noise...could be wrong. and should the ajustment get rid of the noise? i know ive heard sound clips from youtube of other preludes and they all sound like they have a clatter noise from tha valvtrain so i guess its normal?

Re: Valve clatter

I do know what your saying. I had my mechanic do my valve clearances because they kept throwing misfire CEL's and after he did them to spec i still heard a tick. But its not the valves i believe its just the sound honda engine's make. My 95 civic does the same thing and it just had a new timing belt/water pump valve clearances and lots of other stuff done to it.
