thats a view from behind the drivers side tire, and it's not the axle/cv boot.

rack & pinion boot to be exact, should be able to get it at a parts store. take your tie rod off, cut the old boot off. regrease your rack, put the new boot on, reinstall tie rod. then take your car in for an alignment just to be sure everything is good to go.

thanks everyone for playing! would it be possible for the rack & pinion boot to be making a gnarly clunk sometime when i push in the clutch?
