So let me vent real quick...

Its okay if you dont want to listen or not but i need SOMEONE, ANYONE to feel me here...

I planed out my monday (My only day off from work) PERFECT, well i thought i did. 11AM I was supposed to go to a tire shop and get my new rims mounted, (2006 CIVIC SI rims) to my lude. I had seen it done before and i really like the look. So i go the the place and the salesmens being a total dick because he knows they already have my money and he can say what he wants... First off the guy who i talked to on the phone originally said that they would mount balance and everything. This salesmen starts telling me they wont touch the rims because i didnt buy them from them. So im like well the salesmen i talked too on the phone said you would, and hes like "well idk who you talked too but its not happening.." (This is my 4th set of tires i bought from these guys) So i said fine, mount the tires to the wheels ill take them back to my shop and put them on.. So I took them back, i jacked up the lude and started taking off the lugs (Keep in mind this company was the last company to mount my current rims) One busted... cool crossthreaded, next side, 2 busted CROSSTHREADED AGAIN! So this place effed up my lugs to the max. so i start putting on the SI wheels only to notice that the front wheels just happen to hit the calipers JUST a little, so i had to rip them all off again, put my old wheels back on and i had to get some small spacers, now my cars at honda getting the threads fixed! UGH!

Re: So let me vent real quick...

I wouldn't go to that shop again bro, sounds like they don't give a damn about you or you're car. And although its too late for it, you can put on new lug studs and nuts yourself, they're fairly cheap and easy to install.

And I don't think this is the most appropriate place for this thread, by the way.

Unfortunate, but very true. This is where the phrase "if you want it done right, do it yourself" comes from. It's rather hard to find a good mechanic who won't screw you over, and even if you do, they can make mistakes too. Unfortunately for them its a "whoops" and for you its "sht I won't have a car for a week."

Which is my second and third reason for going to school to be a mechanic. To learn how to do all my work myself and to open up a shop were work gets done right the first time. Of course the whole shop thing will prolly be twenty years from now, but one day.

If I had a tire machine, alignment rack, lift, and a machine shop... I wouldn't ever have any need to have anyone do any work for me.

That's when you go to a PRIVATELY owned shop (as in, not a franchise), and get in touch with the owner. The ONLY other person that has touched my car (since I've had it, obviously) is Mike Lund. He has owned a Honda/Acura shop in Davenport, IA for about 20 years. My grandma used to take her Accord to him for everything, and eventually I got to know him through her. I guess I'm lucky to have someone like that around in case I ever need it. They're getting harder to find every day.

Re: So let me vent real quick...

Yeah guys i pretty much called them and said,"Safe and sound will no longer be doing buisness with you. Because of your new ' Assistant Manager', you have lost an account.. Have a nice day!" Because my father owns a car audio shop that i manage... and all of our employees usually buy tires there but if were going to be treated like poop screw it!!

I wouldn't sue them... Frivolous lawsuits are ****ing retarded. However, I WOULD report them to the BBB.
