fog light switch confusion

So I was just replacing all the bulbs on the left side where the cruise/roof/dimmer switches are. When I looked at the OEM foglight switch I noticed there is only one bulb. Is this correct? Does the symbol light up at all?

Thanks a lot

Brad

Re: fog light switch confusion

Yea I was kinda wondering this too. My fog light switch has never lit up, but then again my fogs have never worked...

Re: fog light switch confusion

the symbol lights up. depending if its on or off, another green light above it should be lit/unlit

Re: fog light switch confusion

If its like the cruise than one bulb sounds right. One to light up the symbol, and the indicator light is probably soldered in. IIRC. But then again, I dont have a stock foggy switch ANYWAYS, so I could be way off base here.

Ah. So any ideas why my fog lights don't work?

I had that issue when I first installed my fogs. My trouble shoot process went as follows:

1.Check grounds.
2. Check fuses
3. Check that all wiring is firmly connected at splices/terminals etc.
I think after that I realized I had a loose connect at my relay, I simply tightened her up and they've never had an issue since.

If you continue to have issues after above steps I would check that it is all hooked up properly. Correct fuse loctaion, correct connections etc etc.

Re: fog light switch confusion

Yeah I really need to make time to do that. Prolly have to be once I go back to school, then I'll have mitchell, alldata and my DMM to help me.

I'll give the wiring a prefunctory once over tomorrow, see if I can see anything obvious...

Re: fog light switch confusion

I'm pretty sure there is just an indicator light that comes on when pushed in- no light for the symbol...

Re: fog light switch confusion

The USDM switch (the horizontal one that sits in the lower part of the bezel) has a green neon run light, the symbol DOES NOT light up.

The JDM switch (vertical, sits near the cruise control and sunroof button) has a neon green run light and the symbol DOES light up.
