Question on how to prevent car from being stolen..

well im wondering what can you do to prevent a car from being temporarily stolen, since i dont have an alarm atm and im getting one in a week or so but tomorrow im going some where and im wondering what i can do.

-remove battery cable right?
(will fool the dummies only though =/ )
-remove coil?
(any one know which one it is exactly i think i know which one but im not 100% sure)
-remove some fuse like the fuel pump maybe?
(not sure if this works just asking if it would somehow someway)

just wondering what would be useful just as a temporary fix til i get my alarm installed

TIA

Re: Question on how to prevent car from being stolen..

If your that worried then I would go out and buy a hardcore steering lock, like masterlock or something. Usually its better to deter theives than anything else.

And yes, pulling the fuel pump fuse and/or battery cable is a good bet, cuz once they figure out the car won't start they won't want to waste their time stealing a dead vehicle.

Not to mention that unless they're a rather good theif it will be hard to start the car without the transponder key.

Re: Question on how to prevent car from being stolen..

I would say if your gonna be going somewhere with your car, the fuse would be easiest. If your gonna leave your car behind, then you can get into some more stuff, like soto said.

Re: Question on how to prevent car from being stolen..

All great ideas, but personally I would just leave a rottweiler in the passenger seat. Doubt you'll have any issues with people wanting to steal it then.

Re: Question on how to prevent car from being stolen..

Leave a rottweiler in the car for a couple days? Even a night? I'm not gonna even go down the animal abuse road, but think of how much sh!t, piss, slobber and hair will be in your car....

Re: Question on how to prevent car from being stolen..

Find someone that works at bust buy in the audio section and convince them into buying the alarm for u at their discount and throw them some money.. U can get the 500 dollar 2 way viper alarm for like 175. That's what I did.. So just get a 2 way alarm, cut off switch, and don't leave u car where u can't see it for long periods of time

Re: Question on how to prevent car from being stolen..

put a vandegraff generator in the car. LOL

Personally I have an alarm and all but what makes me feel safest is the multiple kill switches I have hidden in the car. Unless you flip all of them, the car is not going anywhere.

Wheel lock $50
Alarm $300
Rott in the back seat? 2 years in jail for animal cruelty
Kill switch $5

And you thought I was going to say "Priceless" LOL
