Radiator!!!

Hey guys, im new here!
I have a questions though. my radiator fan isn't working and I have no idea why.
the driver side fan is working when the car is on but the right (passenger side) will not at all.
recently i hit a pretty deep pot hole and i bottomed out on my passenger side. (towards the back of the engine)
I had a leak which i already fixed and the car isnt steaming or overheating anymore. Unless its sitting at idle of course.
Help me out?

Re: Radiator!!!

Usually that fan hardly ever kicks on.

So what you're saying is it overheats at idle? What does your temp gauge say? Normal is just below half.

Re: Radiator!!!

yea i was wondering why mine hardly turns on.

turn on ur a/c and check if both fans spin. if they do they're good

from what i heard is the fan only turns on when its hot/above middle on temp gauge. or a lil higher than half ways.

Hit the nail on the head. If they both turn on, you've got nothing to worry about.

Re: Radiator!!!

I think the proper way to test it is to run the engine at like 3k rpm with or without the a/c on, I can't remember. Can't wait til I get mitchell back

Anyway ya if you run the a/c it will put more strain on the radiator, whichuse the secondary fan to kick on. If it does, you know it works. However I think that fan is programmed to kick on if the a/c is on period, so that may not be the proper way to test. Like I said, don't have mitchell or a wiring diagram in front of me.

And just so we're clear...

Re: Radiator!!!

One is a AC fan and the other is a rad fan!!! Normally only one turns on until you turn on your AC then both go on!!!

Like mentioned above...drive with your AC on and if both come on then you're good!!!
